If you’ve been approved for Medicaid, you’ll need to pick a managed care plan to receive your health care. The plan you choose will provide medically necessary services, annual physical exams, and a 24/7, toll-free medical advice phone line. The plan will also help coordinate care for those with special needs and may provide additional services and benefits such as transportation and lower co-payments.
For more information on managed care and to enroll in a plan, contact Ohio Department of Medicaid.

Managed care is like regular private insurance, but the plans are provided by companies contracted with the Ohio Department of Medicaid.
Benefits covered by a managed care plan include inpatient and outpatient hospital services, physician services, family planning services and supplies, prescription drugs, dental, vision care and more.
Managed care plans can provide benefits that traditional Medicaid programs don’t offer, such as assisting with care coordination, a 24/7 medical advice hotline, health education materials, extended office hours and more.
