Lighthouse Ministries has devised a multi-pronged approach to supporting and empowering neighborhood children and teens:
1. The After-School Program provides a safe place for children to go after school, caring adult relationships, supervised play, tutoring, and a broad spectrum of arts-based enrichment opportunities (robotics, mindfulness, electronics, pottery, art, and entrepreneurship, to name a few), all in an effort to help students identify their gifts and strengths.
2. The Summer Activities Project offers two programs for parents to keep their children’s minds engaged over the summer.
– Our Enrichment Camp, a school without desks, offers students 7 weeks of project-based learning across all core subjects and the arts. The program runs from 9a-3p each day and serves breakfast and lunch
– The Field Trip Program offers youth a lighter summer schedule, featuring biweekly field trips that include hiking, visits to zoos and science centers, and swimming.
3. Our Cultivate programming enables students to delve deeper into a field of interest. An opportunity to cultivate their creativity. We are offering Cultivate classes in strings, robotics, and pottery, with more being added regularly.
4. The Evening Youth Ministry Clubs were developed to help neighborhood middle- and high-school students explore their faith through social interaction, study, and reflection on how their actions impact the local and global communities where they live.
5. Vocational Scholarships are offered for any Middle School and High School students participating at the Lighthouse.
