Elena M. Aslanides-Kandis
Elena is a Licensed Professional Clinical Supervising Counselor (LPCC-S), having received her license in 2007. She received her BA at The University of Akron followed by her M.Ed in counseling from Kent State University. Upon graduation, Elena began working at Child Guidance & Family Solutions as an outpatient therapist specializing in the areas of trauma and early childhood. Elena held various positions in her 11 years at Child Guidance & Family Solutions and her last role was the Clinical Manager and Senior Clinical Consultant for School Based Programs. Elena then was driven to work in the community where she is raising her family so she could support change at the larger level. Elena began at Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery in 2018 as the Suicide & Community Response Coordinator. The focus of her work is in suicide prevention which focuses on the entire continuum from prevention, intervention, and postvention. She enjoys working in partnership with others in the community to reduce suicide in Stark County and support those that have been impacted by suicide loss.
