To report the suspected abuse, neglect, self-neglect or exploitation of adults, 60+. Use 911 for any immediate danger.
Anyone who suspects that elder abuse may be occurring can call the statewide toll-free referral number 24 hours a day, 365 days a year: 1-855-OHIO-APS (1-855-644-6277). Callers do not need to provide proof and can choose to remain anonymous.
Elder abuse can also be reported online or to a county JFS agency.
If you need to make a report, provide as much of the following information as possible:
- Name, address, and approximate age of the person
- Name and address of the person responsible for the victim’s care
- The name and address of the alleged perpetrator, if different from the caretaker
- The reason you suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- The nature and extent of the suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Any other known information
